Julien Gasc will unveil \u201cJe t\u2019aime bel et bien\u201d this Friday, May 15, 2026, the second single from his upcoming album Perles, coraux & requins<\/em>, due out on June 5, 2026 via Prohibited Records \/ Kuroneko.<\/p>\n Recorded in Berlin by Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre), the album marks the return of Julien Gasc\u2019s elegant and literary avant-pop, sung in the language of Pr\u00e9vert. The record also features contributions from Tim Gane (Stereolab) and Leo Blomov.<\/p>\n After answering the call of the forest and that of his \u201cmountain ancestors,\u201d Julien Gasc now puts on mask and snorkel for an underwater expedition \u2014 a romantic introspection. \nI replied: \u2018Give me a moment, I\u2019ll come up with a track for you.\u2019
\nI went to the coffee shop to grab a coffee, have a bite to eat, and write the lyrics.
\nThen I went back to the studio, sat down at the piano\u2026 and it came out very quickly.
\nI wrote the song in thirty minutes.<\/p>\n
\nWhen I say \u2018my face,\u2019 it refers to the Brazilian expression \u2018meu cara,\u2019 which means \u2018my buddy.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
